Two Column Storyboard - Peer Assessment
Today our group began our first attempt in creating a two column story board for the few couple of minutes of our music video. I think we managed this quite successfully, based on the response of our peers who understood what has happening in our shots. However they did have a few criticisms. One was that the shots of the studio equipment was unclear, and the narrative wasn't too clear either. A shot was also criticised for being at risk of being boring, they suggested maybe intercutting between shots of him walking in the field and in the studio. This feedback was very useful as we will try and develop a much clearer narrative and be more detailed in the shots.
Decisions and Plans
Today my group came together and decided on the roles we each have over the coming week. Me and Connor have taken responsibility for conducting a focus group and aim to have that completed by next Tuesday. Josh and Dean are going to get a total of 20 questionnaires so that we can have them analysed on Tuesday as well. By Wednesdays lesson, we will have a much better understanding of our target audience.

Using Gimp
Above is a screen shot of me trying to use Gimp in order to create and build on my logo idea for our artist/band. This program however was too confusing for me to use, I found the program very difficult to master. So what i plan to do is take these images and then edit them on a program such as Photoshop or if not, publisher because it saves me time and i feel that it works much more effectively than Gimp. Although trying to use gimp ended in failure and wasted an hour of my time, it did allow me to think more about my initial logo idea, such as the font. The color scheme will remain as black and yellow.
Dubstep Fonts
I found this image very interesting and believed it could be helpful as part of my genre research. This image is made by Andrew McCluskey and displays what he believes to be the Dubstep font. I like the style of the font, its very techno looking. Therefore when it comes to researching my fonts, i will look for techno fonts or something similar as that sort of font is typical of the Dubstep genre.
